Kula is operated by Fluora Inc. ("Kula," "we," "our," or "us"). Kula helps people find the right personal and professional connections — for example, among the attendees of an event or the members of a community. We collect information through messages you exchange with Kula on WhatsApp and through a voice onboarding call, use it to build a profile that represents you, and surface relevant connections to you.
Kula is a user-owned platform. You own your data. We share it only selectively, on a consent basis — nothing about you is shared without your agreement. Making introductions is the core of the Service, and Kula makes them in the context of an event you take part in — never on a standalone basis. When you join, you agree that Kula may share relevant parts of your profile with other members of that event so it can introduce you to one another (see Section 6c). When we publish an event profile or directory, we go further and share only what you have reviewed and confirmed in advance (see Sections 6d–6e). You can ask us to pause introductions or change what is shared, or leave at any time.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the rights you have. By using Kula, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
This Policy applies to information we collect through:
We use the information described above solely to:
We do not:
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
You explicitly opt in to WhatsApp messages from Kula during the voice onboarding call. We record this consent. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP in WhatsApp, after which we will stop sending you messages. You may rejoin by replying START or by completing onboarding again.
When you onboard, you also consent to take part in Kula's introductions. Kula makes introductions in the context of an event you take part in — never on a standalone basis. This means that, for an event you attend, Kula may share relevant elements of your profile — such as your name, what you do, what you are looking for, and why you may be a good match — with other members of that event in order to introduce you to one another. You can ask Kula to pause introductions or limit what is shared by messaging us in WhatsApp, and you can withdraw this consent by leaving the Service.
We use vetted providers to host our infrastructure, process voice calls, and analyze service performance. They process data only under our instructions and under confidentiality obligations.
We deliver messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta acts as a sub-processor and processes message data to deliver messages to your device. Meta's handling of WhatsApp data is governed by the WhatsApp Privacy Policy.
Making introductions is the core function of Kula, and Kula makes them only in the context of an event you take part in — never on a standalone basis. With the consent you give when you onboard, Kula shares relevant elements of your profile — such as your name, what you do, what you are looking for, and why you may be a good match — with other members of that event whom it identifies as a strong fit, so it can introduce you to one another. Other members' profiles are shared with you on the same basis. We share only the elements relevant to a given introduction, not your full profile, and we do not share your contact details or the private contents of your messages unless you ask us to connect you with someone directly. You can ask us to pause introductions or limit what is shared, and you can withdraw consent by leaving the Service (see Section 13).
When you take part in an event or community through Kula, we prepare a public profile for you after the event. You review and confirm this profile before anything is shared. Once you confirm it, we share that confirmed public profile with the other people who attended the event, with the event's organizers, and with the organizers' designated partners or sponsors. We share only the information contained in the profile you confirmed. If you do not confirm a profile, it is not shared. Once a confirmed profile has been shared, the attendees, organizers, and partners who receive it act as independent controllers of that information, and their subsequent use of it is governed by their own privacy practices rather than this Policy.
For an event, we may compile attendees' confirmed public profiles into a directory page that the event's organizers and their designated partners can keep and use (for example, heykula.ai/FindYourPeople). Your profile appears in this directory only if you have confirmed it. You can ask us to update or remove your profile at any time (see Section 13).
We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Kula, our users, or others.
If Fluora Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing us (see Section 13).
We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, authentication, and routine monitoring. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Kula operates from the United States. If you are located outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
To exercise any of these rights, email contact@fluora.ai. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.
California residents have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information as defined under the CCPA.
Kula is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by WhatsApp or through the website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Kula after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you and Fluora Inc. ("Kula," "we," "our," or "us") governing your access to and use of the Kula service, including the voice onboarding call, WhatsApp messaging, website, and related features (collectively, the "Services").
By completing the voice onboarding call or exchanging messages with Kula on WhatsApp, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.
Kula helps people find the right personal and professional connections — for example, among the attendees of an event or the members of a community. We onboard users through messaging and a voice phone call, build a profile that represents you, and surface relevant people and introductions over WhatsApp. Feedback improves the quality of future matches.
Kula is a user-owned platform: you own your data, and we share it only selectively, on a consent basis — nothing about you is shared without your agreement. By using Kula you agree that, to make introductions at an event you take part in, relevant parts of your profile may be shared with other members of that event whom it identifies as a good match. Section 5 explains how this works for introductions, events, your public profile, and attendee directories.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Kula. By using the Services, you represent that you are 18 or older and capable of forming a binding contract. Kula is intended for lawful personal use only.
Onboarding occurs through a recorded voice phone call. By completing the call, you:
You may opt out of WhatsApp messages at any time by replying STOP in WhatsApp. You may resume by replying START or by completing onboarding again. Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.
"Your Content" means the information, messages, voice recordings, photos, and other materials you provide to Kula through the onboarding call, WhatsApp, or otherwise. You retain ownership of Your Content.
By providing Your Content, you grant Kula a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, store, process, reproduce, and transmit Your Content as needed to operate and improve the Services. We use Your Content only to deliver and improve the Services and not for advertising, marketing to third parties, or training generalized AI models outside of Kula's own matching systems.
Kula is a user-owned platform. You own Your Content and the profile built from it. We do not share your profile or personal information with other event attendees, event organizers, or their partners unless and until you have reviewed and confirmed a public profile for that purpose (see Section 5). You decide what your public profile contains, and you can ask us to update or remove it at any time by contacting us. Separately, to make introductions at an event you take part in, Kula shares relevant elements of your profile with other members of that event, with the consent you give when you onboard, as described in Section 5.
You represent that you have all rights necessary to provide Your Content and that Your Content does not violate any law or third-party right.
Making introductions is the core function of Kula, and Kula makes them only in the context of an event you take part in — never on a standalone basis. By using Kula you agree to take part in these introductions: for an event you attend, Kula shares relevant elements of your profile — such as your name, what you do, what you are looking for, and why you may be a good match — with other members of that event whom it identifies as a strong fit, and shares theirs with you on the same basis. Kula shares only what is relevant to a given introduction, and does not share your contact details or the private contents of your messages unless you ask to be connected directly. You can ask us to pause introductions or limit what is shared, or leave at any time.
Once a confirmed profile has been shared, the attendees, organizers, and partners who receive it act as independent controllers of that information, and their subsequent use of it is governed by their own privacy practices rather than these Terms or our Privacy Policy.
We may also compile attendees' confirmed profiles into a directory page that the event's organizers and their designated partners can keep and use (for example, heykula.ai/FindYourPeople). Your profile appears in shared materials and directories only if you have confirmed it. If you do not confirm a profile, it is not shared and you are not included in the directory. You can ask us to update or remove your profile at any time by contacting us.
Kula may also surface third-party people, practitioners, organizers, and experiences ("Providers"). Kula does not employ, operate, endorse, or control Providers, and Kula is not a party to any transaction, booking, or arrangement you make with a Provider. Any dispute arising from a Provider's services is between you and the Provider.
You agree not to use the Services to:
Kula uses the WhatsApp Business Platform to deliver the Services. Your use of WhatsApp is also governed by WhatsApp's own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, available at whatsapp.com/legal. You agree to comply with those terms when interacting with Kula on WhatsApp.
Kula sends messages only to users who have opted in through voice onboarding and does not use the WhatsApp Business Platform to send unsolicited, bulk, or unlawful messages.
Kula, Fluora Inc., and our licensors retain all right, title, and interest in the Services, including software, designs, trademarks, and content we create. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services for your personal, non-commercial use.
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle your personal data. By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
The Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the connections or introductions we surface will meet your needs, that the Services will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, or that any person or Provider will perform as expected. Kula facilitates introductions; it does not vet, endorse, or guarantee any individual, and you are responsible for your own interactions and arrangements with the people you meet.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Fluora Inc. and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, or loss of goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Services. Our aggregate liability under these Terms will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the smallest extent permitted by law.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fluora Inc., its affiliates, officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
You may stop using the Services at any time by replying STOP in WhatsApp or by emailing us to request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if required by law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of laws rules. You and Fluora Inc. agree that any legal action arising from these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California, and each party consents to the jurisdiction of those courts.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through WhatsApp or the website. The "Effective Date" at the top reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the Services after the Effective Date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Fluora Inc. regarding the Services and supersede any prior agreements. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce any right under these Terms is not a waiver of that right. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor.
